Conrado Benitez Assassination

On January 5th, 1961, the volunteer teacher conrado Benitez and peasant Heliodoro Rodriguez were tortured and murdered in the Escambray mountains by a group of counterrevolutionaries. Conrado was 18 years old and he was a high school student when he volunteered to be teacher and heades off for the mountains.
