Democratic Revolutionary Front

This counterrevolutionaty organization was founded through the signing of an agreement on June 22, 1960, in Mexico City.

Antonio de Varona, Aureliano Sanchez Arango, Manuel Artime, Ignacio Rasco and Justo Carrillo were some of the founders. Also present at the ceremony was Frank Bender, representing the CIA--the principal promoter of this organization.

Their members were also used to recruit the mercenary brigade that disembarked in the Bay of Pigs. Among the terrorist actions that the group carried out was the placing of a bomb at the Nobel Academy business school in Havana. This caused severe damage to the facility. There were also several professors and students injured. One of these students even lost one of their eyes.
