Emilio Carretero Escajadillo

Julio Emilio Carretero Escajadillo was born in Cuba in 1928. He was a member of the army of the Batista tyranny. In August 1960 he participated in an uprising against the Revolution and joined the terrorist band of Osvaldo Ramirez. He directly carried out the murder of young literacy-brigade member Manuel Ascunce Domenech and farmer Pedro Lantigua Ortega on November 26, 1961. After committing 27 crimes and 116 acts of terrorism and sabotage, he was captured along with his band on March 28, 1964 as he was preparing to escape to the United States.
