Luis Echeverria

In July 2004, the former President of Mexico, Luis Echeverria, as well as other high officers of his cabinet, were accused of having carried out political assassination in the seventies.

Ex President Echeverria, together with 11 high ranking officers, were connected with the "Corpus Cristi Massacre” in 1971. As a result of that mass execution the police and the paramilitary forces killed at least 30 students who were participating in a demonstration in Mexico City.
